My Story

For as long as I can remember, I've always been a teacher . . .

I started off working  alongside my mother as her assistant in Sunday School when I was 12. That introduced me to teaching.

After graduating from Florida A&M University with a Bachelors of Science, I began as a special needs assistant in St. Petersburg, Florida. Later, I moved back to California where I began teaching students with special needs ranging from grades 5-9th  grade with a wide range of educational, emotional & physical challenges. Later, I transitioned into teaching high school English and English as a Second Language while employed with the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD).  Throughout my time in LAUSD, I also taught in elementary and middle schools at times,  in addition to teaching a wide variety of other subjects including history, government & Spanish.

Now with  over 29 years of experience in teaching  and coming alongside of parents,  I bring a well-rounded supply to help today's students . Here's a quick snapshot of some of my experience in education and other areas:

-Worked with ARCO gas by rewriting their policy manual for clarity, conciseness and readability.
